Dr. Kassem serves as the Academic Director of SCDEI, bringing over two decades of expertise in educational leadership, curriculum design, and academic innovation. With a distinguished career spanning higher education, institutional accreditation, and international curricula, Dr. Kassem is committed to fostering academic excellence and advancing pedagogical strategies that empower students and educators alike.
Academic Credentials
Dr. Kassem holds a PhD in English Language Arts, Linguistics, and Translation from the Faculty of Arts at Alexandria University in 2025, where he also earned his MA in 2020 and BA in 2005 in the same discipline. His academic foundation, rooted in the rigorous study of linguistics, translation, and discourse analysis, informs his holistic approach to educational leadership and curriculum development.
Professional Experience
As a seasoned educator and administrator, Dr. Kassem has contributed significantly to the American Diploma Program for over 20 years, designing and implementing curricula that align with global and quality standards. He currently serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Applied Languages at Alexandria University, where he mentors future linguists and translators.
Dr. Kassem is a Certified Cognia Review Team Member- ensuring the implementation of quality standards in American schools worldwide- and an active Presenter for Cognia IMPACT, advocating for transformative educational practices and institutional accreditation. Moreover, he serves as a Test Manager for ACT, overseeing assessment design, implementation, and alignment with educational benchmarks to ensure rigorous evaluation of student competencies.
His expertise spans educational leadership, professional development, English Language Arts instruction, and standardized testing frameworks, with a focus on cultivating environments that prioritize critical thinking, equity, and lifelong learning.
Current Leadership Role
In his capacity as Academic Director of Smart City for Developing Educational Institutions, Dr. Kassem oversees the academic vision and strategic direction of a rapidly expanding network of campuses. Currently academically managing four campuses in Giza, Cairo, Hurghada, and Assiut—with plans to expand to eight—he is responsible for shaping the educational philosophy, academic policies, and instructional frameworks that unify the institution’s diverse locations. His work ensures alignment with global best practices while addressing the unique needs of each community.
